This afternoon we saw intermittent disruption to outbound calling, initially this was diagnosed as a problem with the load-balancing for our outbound calling servers in our carrier infrastructure.
However, It very soon became apparent that the disruption was caused by a peering outage with LINX lon1. Work was immediately undertaken to drop all of our peering routes with LINX and re-establish them with LONAP whilst the issue was being investigated.
This procedure had been done automatically when peering was first lost, however the connection with LINX was intermittently being re-established and dropped, which drove the decision to tear these peering routes down until stability is restored.
