We have identified a critical bug in the underlying Asterisk software that under certain circumstances can cause it to crash and render a server unavailable for a short period while the software automatically restarts.

As we have a maintenance window scheduled for CallSwitch servers located in the Volta Datacentre tonight we have chosen to postpone the disk upgrade work and instead perform this upgrade as it is more critical.

It is a simple software upgrade process and each server can expect no more than 20 minutes downtime, for most servers we expect this to be less than 10 minutes.

This maintenance window is only for servers in the Volta Datacentre, a further maintenance window will be issued shortly for CallSwitch servers located Telehouse North.

The previously scheduled disk upgrade work will be rescheduled and announced in due course.
